Kilpeck Diamond Knight is by England's leading RID stallion Roma Diamond Skip. Roma Diamond Skip was specifically bred for performance and was Reserve Champion RID stallion at the Royal Dublin Show in Ireland as a four year old (competing against mature stallions). By the age of 11 he had already produced two RID stallions and many more of his offspring have been sold for export. His ability to consistently produce performance horses is no mistake.
Roma Diamond Skip’s sire Shauna's Diamond RID is a Grade 1 stallion approved with the Sport Horse Breeders Of Great Britain. He won over 500 Pounds and Grade C with the British Show Jumping Association, and has produced numerous graded Show Jumpers and Eventers in the UK in addition to producing numerous sons and daughters approved for breeding around the world.
Roma Diamond Skip’s Dam Hollywell Rose was herself a Grade A mare by the popular stallion Skippy and out of the incredibly successful mare Shannon V.
Shauna is the dam of Shauna’s Diamond, she is also the dam of RID stallion Trumpet Major by Diamonds are Trumps as well as stallion Shauna’s Pride who accumulated 46 SJAI points in Ireland. Shauna is a multiple Brood Mare Champion and qualifier for National ID Brood Mare Championships, Millstreet, Co. Cork.
Through Diamonds are Trumps Fargo directly related to International successes such as:
· Irish Sport Horse Royal Charmer, ridden by Markus Fuchs (SUI) 1993 Irish Sport Horse gelding by Cavalier (HOLST), out of Kilkenny Trumps (ISH), by Diamonds are Trumps (RID).
· Richmont Park (ISH) Rodrigo Pessoa (Bra). In Affalterbach, Richmont Park (ISH) and Rodrigo Pessoa claimed the top spot in the 1m55 Table A class
· Carlow Clover ~ 1994 Irish Sport Horse gelding by Clover Hill (RID), out of Clonard Diamond (AID) by Diamonds are Trumps (RID)
· Coolcorran Cool Diamond by Glidawn Diamond (full brother to Diamonds are Trumps) out of a Bronti mare.
Diamonds are Trump’s is one of four stallions that were full brothers all by the great King of Diamonds and out of the highly influential mare Kildalton Countess.
King of Diamonds Born 1962 Chestnut is described in 'The Irish Draught Horse' by Alex Fell as 'the single best known Irish Draught of modern times (he) has been described as the saviour of the Irish Draught as a breed, as a result of his prepotent jumping ability'.
King of Diamonds is ranked 21st in the World Breeding Rankings for the period 1992 - 2001 on the basis of 19 of his progeny, including Rodrigo Pessoa's Special Envoy, John Ledingham's Millstreet Ruby, and Joe Fargis' Mill Pearl.
King of Diamonds dominates the Irish Studbook. He has more than forty stallion sons or grandsons, bred either directly in the sire line or through his daughters. King of Diamonds was by Errigal a son of Silvermines, which was the Irish Draught side of his parentage. His dam Ruby was by True Boy, a halfbred sire who traces to Kildare, a well known Irish Draught stallion at the beginning of the century. The grand dam was the Thoroughbred mare Biddens.
King of Diamonds was a jumper in his own right and achieved his Grade A status.
On Fargo’s dam side the performance bloodlines are also incredible. His Dam - Knockany Princess is by a full brother to King of Diamond’s and she is out of a mare by Laughton. Laughton is “considered to be one of the best sires of his generation and certainly one of the greats for passing on jumping ability. For popular acclaim he could perhaps have out-distanced King of Diamonds himself if he had anything like the same number of mares”
Knockany Princess was a Hornby Premium mare on 11 occasions, the highest status for mares in England. She has produced another performance RID stallion Hawklands Silver Prince, a. he regularly competes in B.S.J.A. Show Jumping, Ridden Hunters and also Fox Hunts. He was the reserve champion, highest placed stallion, winner ridden Hunter champion at the National Irish Draught Show in 1999. In 2000, Prince won the Skippy Two Plate for best Performance Stallion - both the IDHS (G.B) breed shows. She is also the dam of Hawklands Princess Blue (PB). PB has been successfully shown at Wembley and Hickstead over fences - an amazing accomplishment for a purebred!
· Bruce Davidson’s Badminton winner Eagle Lion’s dam (Stream Lion) was out of a Laughton mare. Eagle Lion gained a total of 1277 points between 1990 and 1998.
· Pirate Lion by the thoroughbred Patch out of Stream Lion - individual bronze at 1990 World Championships; Fourth 1990 Lexington***.
· Regent Lion by the thoroughbred Horos out of Stream Lion - Second at both 1994 Lexington and 1990 Radnor.
· Pacific Lion by Ideal Water out of a King of Diamonds mare - Second at 1994 Fairhill; team silver and individual Fifth Pan American Games
· Errigal Flight is by King of Diamonds out of a Laughton mare. He produced El Campeons Ado Annie (the world’s # 1 ISH mare), Hilton Flight and Brave Hart, who is on the short list for Olympics.
